Non-committed Diseqc Switches

Hello everybody,
I could not find a thread treating of this.
I have an EMP CENTAURI 8X1 non-committed switch.
It works but sometimes it needs pushing, as on some transponders it is reluctant to switch readily.
I also noted that when scanning into one satellite directory, it goes and adds channels from other satellites with the same frequency and polarity.
I thought that, because this switch is a Disecq 1.1, it does not have the capability to receive and return answers as in the Diseqc 2.1 specification.
I know that the Spaun has a Diseqc 2.1 spec, but unfortunately only 4X1.
Any ideas are welcome.

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 5 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/13E/16E /19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

I put an 8 way switch into my system last weekend. I have also found that a few channels end up in the wrong list during automatic scans.

I also find that one lnb is reluctant to let go of the switch and the box requires a reboot. I have seen this before on a 4 way switch and put it down to "one of those things" I shall put another lnb in to replace the "sticky one" over the weekend to see if its an lnb problem rather than the switch.

(Dreambox 7020, using disecq 1.1 for switching)

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I am now certain it is the Diseqc 1.1 spec.
We need the 2.1, If the receiver supports the 2.1 mode.
This will keep on sending the command until it receives a confirmation.
The 1.1 sends a maximum of three repeats, and that sometimes is not enough.
The Spaun has a 2.1 but only a 4x1 version. I have been told that this does not have the problem
Satconn has a programmable 6 modes 10x1. This includes our Diseqc 2.1. The programmer is available separately.
The total switch plus programmer for less than 50 Euros.
I could PM you the link if you wish so.

I have swapped the lnb over this morning between the showers (I had an old universal lnb lying in the bits box) and it seems to have fixed it (at the moment anyway, I'll see how I get on.)

Oh drat - found another problem! The new lnb isnt switching to the hi band - Ive had this problem with this lnb with a couple of other receivers, although it worked fine with my old Echostar. More tweaking required....

I withdraw what I have said about the diseqc 1.1 vs 2.1 for the moment.
Out of spite, it occurred to me to rescan the stubborn transponders.
And I did.
Guess what!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot explain why it worked, it does not make any sense.
And it is still working.
