My System: Andrews 1.2 dish. Inverto LNB. Matched feedhorn. Technomate 6800
Staying Put!

I can move the dish with the V box and scan for channels and save, but when choosing to go to a stored sat the TM 6800 says moving 3 times but nothing moves. I have checked the cable between the 1224 motor and receiver so is it a duff reed switch?

Ah well, no replies. I was hoping I could avoid changing the reed switch as its a new 1224 motor but the cable is OK, proper screened stuff, even checked it out with a meter. Could it be anything else?

My System: Technomate TM6800D & TM1000D+ receivers, Stab H-H90 motorised Triax 1m dish 42E to 30W. Fixed Orbital 1m on 26E, 2 x minidishes.DigitAlB movies. A Bigsat BS-S77CX and a Sky Dodgibox.

Hi,

I don't understand why you think the reed switch is broken, as you have said that the motor is turning OK with the V-box by itself. Does the dish go to the correct stored positions using the V-box remote? If so then:-

I think your problem lies with the storage of the satellite positions, maybe the receiver is telling the postioner to go to a position that has not yet been stored. I suspect that it wouldn't move if this was the case.

I don't use a V-box, but I would have thought that the position no's in the receiver have to tally with the
positions stored in the V-box. Since the V-box pretends to be a Diseqc motor, you should be able to do all the position storing via the receiver, to get the two synchronised.

As I understand it with the TM 6800 you do not put any settings into the V Box. I scan a sat and the TM 6800 stores and saves them. I assumed when you change sats in the TM it moved the motor to the correct position. It doesent do that, just say it is 3 times and nothing. Therefore do I need to save the position in the V box also?

Ahh, thought you said you'd done it with the V-box in the your first post.

When you save the positions using the receiver, it should save them to the V-box for you, just like it saves the positions into a Diseqc motor.

So can you select the preset positions using the v-box remote control?

From the TM 6800 it will not go to any saved sat position. I saved some positions into the V Box to check and the V Box will move the dish to the required position but of course the TM 6800 then needs to be set at the correct satellite, I guess it rules out the a faulty reed switch. Maybe an update from Technomate is required.

My System: triax td88 motorised, Vantage x221tsci, tms-1500ci, skystar 2, diablo v2.3, zone 2 minidish - setanta

no settings needed when vbox is connected to receiver using diseqc 1.2, is this how your using it ?

as the receiver will have the sats stored then the vbox just does it convert the 1.2 command to 36v pulse so the dish moves to the position

or is it as a standalone positioner pressing 1 to go to hotbird etc

as on my jaeger vbox there is two modes automatic or manual positioning
