Advice needed

hi everone.
ive been loking at the prices to get a hd setup with a passion hd box.
the thing is a 90cm satellite with a motor (wthout an lnb) will cost about £100.maplin have got a kit for sale (_http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=221438&doy=18m11&ForceUpdate= Y) that includes a dish, motor, sd lnb and a normal reciever. what i want to know is will it work if i upgrade the lnb to a hd one and buy the passion hd reciever.i could then keep the other reciever and lnb, or sell them on Ebay to make some money back.

thanks in advance

The kit doesn't specify the make and models especially for the motor and the receiver.
Personally I would buy every part seperately and only after making sure about the spec of each part, even if this will cost more.

Try to get the full specs on the motor. It can be your weakest link in the system.

Looks like a STAB motor and they just put Fortec Star label.
Just make sure that the kit includes THIS motor and not some other low end make. There are so many clones.
Read some of the threads about motors first.

My System: triax td88 motorised, Vantage x221tsci, tms-1500ci, skystar 2, diablo v2.3, zone 2 minidish - setanta

lol any 40mm universal lnb will work fine, theres no such thing as a hd one

you could probably get a triax dish, motor, and technomate 5400 receiver for not much more money

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

I'm not a lover of the STAB motor, there have been reports of unacceptable play in the arm, I would probably opt for a Moteck SG-2100 and a Fraccaro 85cm Penta dish, a nice combination, add an inverto LNB and you have a good system.

Not sure about the Passion HD receiver, as we haven't had too many reports about them.
