Question motor control problem with receiver

hi guys,

anyone got any idea how i can solve this problem as it just doing my head right in.

the problem, i have is with a moteck diseqc motor and vantage receiver x221tsci

i have it setup in the motor configuration for usals the same as my other receiver a technomate 1500.

but this is where its all going wrong, the motor will not move correctly connected to the vantage receiver.

what it does is move abit then stop, move and then stop abit then move to the satellite postion. or sometimes not move at all.

the technomate is fine with the motor.

on the vantage is the latest software from the vantage website.

nothing else is connected to the coax cable.

i have also tried reseting the motor outside but no joy.

what else can i try ?

My System: Smart lnb, 1m Gibby dish, Stab motor, TM5200D receiver, 57east to 61west. DTT from Sudbury. Virgin Media broadband.

The way I read it, is that you have a Vantage problem , not a motor problem. So why do you want to change over to a Stab motor?

i was going to change to a stab motor so i could use my other dish thats all

the technomate was doing the same as the vantage till i did some tests today

maybe the vantage receiver i have just doesn't like the motor as it works fine straight from the dish no motor in line

My System: I bet on red. If I lose, I double the bet on red again. I continue with this until I lost everything.

My System: Technomate 1500CI Super, Vantage X221TS CI with Sly FTV card, Illusion motor, 1.2M Tecatel dish with invacom LNB

I put a Vantage on a motor and the same thing happened. They don't do motors well is my conclusion. Changed to a TM1000 and now no problem.

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Also worth trying the receiver using standard Diseqc, not Usals and see what happens.

after a couple of months. I've still no idea what the problem is.

as it will move to satellites just not in a fluid movement, it moves a bit then stops and moves a bit again, this cant be right ?

otherwise everything else is working on the receiver so i guess its not faulty

is there a way of measuring the current the receiver is outputting to the motor as i have heard a few people say the vantage receiver overloads the diseqc motor and can damage them.

as a test i was going to buy another make of diseqc motor and see if the same thing happened.

I would try changin to another LNB, just to be sure. I had a similar problem for a long time, only to stop when I changed the LNB...

My System: Channel Master 1.2m and 1.8m, Vantage VT-X221TS CI and 8000s, Technomate V-Box II, 18" Superjack actuator

The last software update from Vantage had a USALS bug fix but maybe its not completely fixed?

yes i have the latest software but the issue remains so its something to bear in mind and also changing the lnb as i have not done that yet.

the receiver is very nice and i would like to use this on the dish but with this issue its not possible

does the vantage receiver work well with vboxes, as i'm considering upgrade to 36volt ?

Excellent with the V-Box. You don't even need the remote for the V-box as you can store satellite positions in the motor menu.
