bird crap

Hi all,

Not sure if this goes here, but it's todo with installing a dish, so here goes, I have located my dish to a suitable place, not to high but not to close to the ground, i have good reception etc, but theres one problem, since i had put it up on saturday, it's covered with bird crap!, so sunday morning i cleaned it up, qnd low and behold im up this morning to see it all again, i think its a crow, it keeps eyeing it up every now and then, is there any thing i can do to stop these birds doing what they are doing.

Regards

Get a scarecrow perhaps

Do you have a nest somewhere above the dish?, when I had a couple of nests, there was bird crap all over the ground.

You might also be able to get an audio based bird scarer.

I don't know. I have just heard them occasionally when driving through the countryside.

Well

If the deposit is on the face of the dish that suggests the birds are landing on the top rim of the dish as they are not that good a shot. If that is the case there are some strips around with flexible rubber protruberances to discourage the birds from landing there in the first place. Be careful though there are some I have seen with sharp metal spikes which I suspect may not now be legal but I have seen them on many buildings.
