Hi All, I'm having trouble locating a good position for my dish due to having three huge pine trees right beside my house. The only reasonable place I can find involves a cable run of 75-80m all in. Is this possible with WF125 and line amplifier(s)? If yes, where should I place the amp(s)? due to the trenching thats already in place I'd have a choice of 2m from the LNB, 25M from the LNB and/or 65m from the LNB. Would 2 amplifiers in series provide any benefit? I understand the loss of 100M of FW125 is ~25dB but it seems unrealistic to expect a single 20dB line amplifier to drive it 50m and still get a picture at the other end... Any advice gratefully received, Roddy

Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser. | You should be able to put it at 25m, obviously use as big a dish as you can get away with. I recently did one with a 4 cable 100m run of WF125, a Triax TD88 and line amps at 40m from the dish. Would have preferred a bigger dish, but was all I was allowed to use. You might also consider using WF165 (RG11) or similar, maximum loss of 20db per 100m at high IF, 115db at lower frequencies.

My System: CM 3.0m @ 28.2 w PACE | FWIW: I have a 50m run and a simple in-line amp (15€) 3m from the lnb increases signal level about 25% and leaves quality unaffected. I couldn't bring myself to actually cut the cable halfway.I have used a couple of different amps and there was a difference between the 2. Also, since you mention a trench, if the diameter allows it ( it should logically) you can fix the amp at the desired distance (e.g 40m), waterproof it and secure it with tape and then thread it thru the trench together with the cable.
