My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

If you want something which will not move, then a dish with a heavy steel bracket like a Gilbertini or channel Master on a 3" mast with actuator, or heavy duty 36v motor will do the trick. If you are using a budget dish on a DiseqC motor and 2" mast, then in extreme conditions, it may move.

My System: 43cm Dish, Sky Plus, FRACARRO PENTA 85, Invacom Twin, Moteck SG2100a H-H DiSEqC Motor, TF5000CI, TM-5200D, Rover Discovery ST-4, Rover SDM-1s, 57E to 58W

I've always wondered if there's a way to adapt the motor arm to the dish bracket with a bolt through method to stop possible slippage.

I've not yet had a dish bracket move on a DiseqC motor arm, but have had the motor clamp move on the main mast, as the clamps on some DiseqC motors are not that strong.

There is of course the potential for the nylon gears in the DiseqC motor to strip in severe conditions.

@ Den123, Has your dish moved in the past?

The motor clamp doesn't have the best grip from what I've seen, it's got a small type 'V' section but not sufficient enough. May be a bolt through arrangement through the motor clamp and main mast. I did look at doing something but wondered if it would weaken the main structure. Also can easily see how the nylon gears may strip in very strong winds. Saying that, ( touch wood ), I have the same dis motor in an area open to the wind and have had no movement at all.

Bang, click, stripe

strange as i have had the opposite happen for me, dish moved on the motor a few times in strong wind.

den123, you have the option to fit a polar mount with actuator motor to the gibertini dish and think this would be better in your situation.

also i move my dish to face the wind side on which helps
