Signal Level & Quality too low

Hi guys,

I hope someone can help me. I used to be able to receive at least 60% signal level and 30%/40% signal quality, and it never gave a "no signal" message unless during a storm. (Hotbird 13E)

Now I only get 35% signal level and 20% signal quality and the image constantly breaks up even during a sunny day with no clouds.

At first I thought it might have to do with the LNB. I had an old 0.7 db LNB, so I bought a new Inverto 0.2 db LNB, but nothing changed. The I tried a new coax cable (a piece of cable I had laying around somewhere), still nothing has changed.

Now I think it might have something to do with all the threes in front of our apartment, but we always had those threes there and it never caused any difficulties back then.

Anyway, I made some pictures. I hope someone can help me out...

1st picture: This is my dish, 80cm + Inverto 0.2db LNB, at a height of about 2.5meters

2nd picture: Holding my camera directly above the LNB holding it horizontally.

3rd picture: Holding my camera directly above the LNB holding it in the direction of where the dish is pointing.

Welcome, sounds like dish alignment OR line of sight problems to me

Not any old piece of cable will do, you need proper satellite cable.

The trees would have grown a bit, perhaps they have reached the point where they are causing an obstruction.

The photos seem to indicate that the trees are the problem.

If so, you will need to either reduce their height or raise the height of the dish.

If you go to dishpointer or similar you will know the required elevation angle for Hotbird in your location. If the angle from the dish to the top of the trees is more than that, that is the problem.

The signal quality jumped up by 10% during night, without me touching it and without any change in weather. There are no image hiccups anymore. It's so weird.

Could well be tree growth still.
