My System: 43cm Dish, Sky Plus, FRACARRO PENTA 85, Invacom Twin, Moteck SG2100a H-H DiSEqC Motor, TF5000CI, TM-5200D, Rover Discovery ST-4, Rover SDM-1s, 57E to 58W

Nope.......... those conifers wouldn't cause a problem for THOR.

Remember Thor 1W will be the highest point of the arc and at the moment you should have line of sight.

Rig looks neat and tidy and motor & dish looks Ok.

Very nice strong wall bracket

Keep at it

My System: Technomate TM6800D & TM1000D+ receivers, Stab H-H90 motorised Triax 1m dish 42E to 30W. Fixed Orbital 1m on 26E, 2 x minidishes.DigitAlB movies. A Bigsat BS-S77CX and a Sky Dodgibox.

From the photo, the trees look barely higher than the dish, Thor is going to be about 30 degrees up. Also you said in previous posts that you were able to get some good quality signals.

Leylandii are a pain though, I had to get my neighbour to cut all his down, as they were as high as the house.

My System: motorised technomate 6900hd with a Technomate TM2200 Super Motor, 85mm transparent dish

on the dishpointer.com under dish data when i put in my location and the Thor satellite it comes on with a figure of 29.7 for the elevation. Is this accurate and is it taking about the elevation on the actual dish bracket or the motor. Would it be worth a try setting this as a starting point. The dish bracket is currently on 22.

It's on the dish bracket. The motor 'EL' has already been set.
Some 'EL' brackets on dishes are not accurate.

P.S 22 sounds about right

The angle on dishpointer is the angle from the horizon up to the satellite. It is a calculated value. How accurate, I haven't a clue, but always useful as a guide.

The angle given is not the same as you need to set, as you have a motorised dish. The shaft sticking out the motor is not necessarily vertical, so the elevation markings on the dish will not correspond to what dishpointer says. The angle of dish face however will be as though it is on a fixed mount, when set up properly.

For example if you stuck your dish on the top of your wall bracket, and set the dish elevation to 30, that should be roughly right for thor and that is how the dish should look when its on the motor (when the motor has been sent to Thor)

Latitude of 52 OR Elevation of 38 (same thing on motor)

30 - 7.5 Declination angle = 22.5 dish Elevation

So the dish will be at the same angle as 29 degree as per dishpointer because you have set the motor shaft angle to ( lat/El on motor scale)

Glad your up and running

You did most of the work anyway, LOl

Out of interest, what sort of money did you spend to get a pro out?

Re - TM6900 sport and films. There are a few packages open; should be just the ticket.
