Channel Master 1.2m Feed Clamp - Where To Buy ?

Hi Everyone

Hope this is the right part of the forum to post this.....I received my new digital gear from Maplins today and i need to attach the new Quad LNB to the dish...Unfortunately the LNB holder which i think is called a feed clamp has two rusted screws holding the old LNB in place and it will just not shift despite attempts with Ice, Oil, WD-40, Coca cola with it's phospheric acid etc etc.....I just cannot remove it which means i must buy a new LNB holder for this dish.

It's a Channel Master 1.2 meter and has 3 steel or aluminium poles which connect to the LNB holder which i think is a 40cm one....

I can't seem to find anywhere to buy this....Anyone got advice and know of any reliable places i can buy this for a quick delivery as i'm keen to get the digital satellite up and running.

Incidentally i must praise maplins....ordered late thursday and some more goods on Friday morning and goods arrive today...Now that's quick.

I hope someone can help me and thanks in advance.

Is this the matched feed horn for the Channel Master dish? If it is, you'd be better kleeping it and buying a quad C120 LNB.

Can you upload a photo?

Hacksaw through the side of the clamp to cut the screws (where the 2 pieces of plastic join). When you do this you will probably have to cut into the LNB and ruin it but you are changing it anyway. Once you have cut through the screws you can drill out the old ones and replace. If not you can use insulating tape to bind it all back together (this will work but not ideal).
When you have finished you may want to lube up all the other bolts and screws for the future.

No it's not the matched one....I actually bought this Channel Master dish almost 9 years ago i think.....It didn't come with any special feedhorn so i bought a normal Universal LNB and i used it to view D2 MAC at 1 degrees west....I have now bought a new Quad LNB which is made by Fortec Star....Hoping it works good.

I really need to replace the LNB Holder though rather than try and patch it up...It's seen much better days.

New problem too....The mount in which the dish is situated has one rusted to hell screw which controls moving the dish...I tried hard to move it and all i have done is make the screw head round instead of having the rectangle bits ( like a 50p piece ) so now it's round it's totally screwed....So i need to replace the mount in which the dish sits.

To trigger -

I'm absolutely rubbish at DIY so drilling and hacksawing things is pretty much a no for me as i'd just mess it up more....I can align my dish if i can replace these bad parts but i just can't find a supplier.

I'm going to try doing another internet search but so far all i can find is complete dishes and all i need now is the replacement LNB holder and of course now a new mount for the dish.

I have found a site called SatelliteSuperstore.com selling the LNB holder....Its much more than i thought it would cost though at £39.99....Is this site reliable ?

I found another site selling the Polar Mount at £79.99 ( expensive for me ) Is this site reliable - _http://www.parabolic.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?currency=GBP&osCsid=83de2&product s_id=117

I also found this _http://www.wizardsatellite.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=268 - Not sure if that is for a motorised setup or whether it would replace my current polar mount.

Apparently Andrews which bought Channel Master do not make the polar mounts anymore.

Gee this digital switchover is hitting the pocket bigtime and i bet the picture quality is worse than analogue and gets blocky a lot due to lower bitrates and cramming channels in....Oh better stop i'm ranting now.

Any help with information on reliability of the above sites or a cheaper and better place to buy these items is appreciated.

Finally i also found this site..._http://www.prosat.com/catalog/item/1824255/5784187.htm

It's american but exports to the UK....Wow the Channel Master mount i need for around £25...of course after shipping it'll cost more but might still be cheaper than UK prices.

What would i have to pay customs for importing this ? Final costs ?

My System: Kaon,Vantage,FortecUltra, qualitvHD, Humax1000HD receivers.Vbox, CM 1.2 dish, 1224HH mount,c120 lnb with CM feedhorn.

I purchased a channel master feedhorn and a lnb from there, items arrived ok but had to pay import tax and a new delivery charge. I think it was still cheaper than buying in the UK though.

My System: andrews dish - jaeger 1224 motor, vantage x221tsci, skystar 2, diablo v2.3, cyfra+

if you cant get a polar mount, then a jaeger 1224 motor will fit your dish and make it motorised

Our supporting advertisers _www.sateuropa.co.uk sell the Andrews Polar mount for just under £70.

Yes i checked the site you supplied out....Great news and i ordered one.

Now all i need is the LNB holder which unfortunately i couldn't locate on their site....I think i'll use the superstore one which stocks it and hopefully i can get everything working within the next three days or so.

MVision receiver is supplied with a Conax Cam as well as having a free slot to insert another CAM...I'm just wondering if Cams are available should i wish to ever try Sky or do they require a brand new receiver...I understand i can currently get a card for Setana with this receiver make....I will be happy just getting the BBC ITV and eventually Channel 5 but i do wonder.

What is available on the fixed satellite i will be using which i think is 28.2 west that can take advantage of a Conax cam ?
