Hotbird user wanting to get Freesat

Hi all,

I currently have a dual-lnb setup pointing to hotbird, but I would also like to receive freesat. What do I have to do in this case?

Will my existing receivers be able to work? One is a dreambox and the other is an htpc.

thx

You need an extra dish, or possibly an extra LNB to get a signal from 28E.

My System: Twin monoblock and twin LNB on 80cm transparant dish rigged for twin reception from HB Astra 1 and 2 + TopField TF 7700 HDPVR + TwinHan VisionDTV

Indeed, more info would be needed.

Cause for some this is feasable. I have a monoblock on Hotbird, Astra 19.2 and a separate LNB on 28.2 (freesat) on a single 80cm dish. The wiring is a bit tricky as the monoblock has to enter both the A and B of the disecq 4.1 switch.

Nope, you don't need another cable. You would stick the DiSEqC switch outside.

4x1 DiSEqC switch required if you have separate LNb's but I sure from your mention of a Dual-LNb, you may well have a monobloc at the moment.

I think it must be a TWIN sm, as he has two receivers. In which case, make that two DiSEqC switches.

Yes, it's hard to tell what exact set up with limited information as dual -LNb could mean anything

Yes, its a twin then.

Please upload a picture of your dish, so we can advise the easiest way to get 28E as well.
