My System: motorised dish 90cm |
Hi I recently installed a motorised system but it is not picking up anything, the signal level is at 90% but the quality just hops between 20% and 22%. The motor is a fortec star as is the dish and LNB, the LNB is the FCKUVN and I have tried turning at all angles but still nothing. I have been using USALS and have inputted my Latitude and Longitude settings but havent been able to pick up anything. This is my first install but I have tried to do everything right as I have followed and read up on lots of guides so can anybody advise me on where I may be going wrong. Thanks

Blog Entries: 4 My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum. | Have you read the guides here? Before you start playing with moving the motor using the receiver, you need to find your due South satellite. Being in Berkshire it is going to be very close to Thor 1W. So you make sure that your mast is plumb, your latitude setting on the motor body is correct and then by swinging the whole assembly on the mast and adjusting the dish elevation, you find your satellite. Easier if you have a little satfinder meter, but a portable TV connected to the receiver with a long lead will suffice.

My System: 43cm Dish, Sky Plus V2, Thomson DSI6210 Sky+160, Thomson DSI4214, Gibertini 104cm, Invacom SNH-031, 12inch 36v Actuator, Technomate Vbox-II, TF5000CI, TM-5200D, Sling Media, Rover ST-4, Rover SDM-1s, 42E to 30W, Tecatel 1.35m fixed on 28e | Just to add: Make sure your receiver is showing Tp 11.325h, 24500, 7/8 for BBC World and not a Tp on the Nordic beam. BBC World isn't on the strongest transponders but is ideal for setting up on Thor. Also see: http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellit...nb-fckuvn.html SM
