Max length of cable?

What the max length of cable from sattelite dish to tv?

From the bottom of my garden to tv will be about 100 - 110ft

The cable i have currently is T R Sat RG6U coaxial cable 75ohm

Will that be ok, or should i get something better?

Regards
Rob

My System: Zone1, DSI8215 SkyHD, Thomson DSI4214, TF5000CI, Dreambox DM800 HD PVR - Nab BH0.12, TM-5200D, Gibertini 104cm, SNH-031, 36v Actuator, Vbox-II, 42°E to 30°W, Sling Media, Televes H45 Digital Processing Analyser, Satlook Micro+G2 NIT, Rover SDM 1s

I'd go for benchmarked cabling such as Tx100, Wf100.........

Using the above cable, the losses are known (10dB @ 2Ghz).

RG6 will work but not the best for the job and may have more loss at the higher end of frequencies.

If you have the RG6 cable already, I would say try it, see how it performs.

If is doesn't work very well, pay out for better quality stuff.

I would never buy the cheap stuff in the first place though.

screwfix do pf100, for about £32 a reel by the way.
