My System: Relook 400S 1.8 motorised parabolic dish
Mesh dish 10ft compared to 1.80 prime focus

Hello !

I have a 1.80 m solid prime focus motorised dish and I would like to ask if a 10ft mesh dish would pick more signals than the one I have.
I have heard that the mesh dishes loose signals as they were designed for use in C band.I want to use it for Ku band reception.
The position I am interested in is 28.2 E for the HD channels of the english package.I am situated in Athens, Greece.

Thanks in advance.

That's exactly right I'm afraid

plus

the face has to be more accurate than a C Band dish so even if you could cover it with a KU band reflector material .. it has to be very accurate... parabola wise to work.

My System: Covering 30W-105.5E range, two motors, C and Ku band. Various receivers/cards/cams/etc.

Absolutely no worth. I've used 2.4meter C band mesh dish for Ku for tests. Was performing as 0.8m solid dish.

Ok, I got the message and I postponed the whole process.
I am staying with my 1.80m dish
Thanks Pedro and BombedOne !
