picking up 4 satellites on one lnb ???

Hi, everybody!

I'm really new at this and i need some help. I live in Hants and recently i got 1m dish to pick up Eutelsat W2 to get Slovene channels. So when i was looking for Eutelsat W2 i picked up Astra 1 thinking i'm not far away from Eutelsat W2.But after 2 hours still couldn't pick Eutelsat up. Cos it was getting dark, i thought i'll just set up Astra1 to watch some german chennels. So when i scaned Astra1 i got BBC1 and all the chanels from probably Astra 1d, but the funny thing is that it didn't scan any german channels. So i checked signal on Hotbird/ku, Astra1/ku, Astra 1d/3a/ku and Astra2,Eurobird1 and i have a really good signal on all of them with just one lnb is this possible. Pls need some help!!!
Thx

Sounds like you are pointed at Astra2.

There are common frequencies used on different sats. This means that when you tell the receiver to scan hotbird or any other sat, it will pick up a signal / services from the common freqs. The receiver doesn't know what sat the dish is pointed at, you tell it this by selecting the sat you want to scan in the menus.

My System: 1.2M, & 55cm Gregorian Dish`s, 1.8m Precision dish Jaeger 1224 H-H motor.Dreambox 800, Vbox-II. SS2 Card.

No not possable, your on a single sat,

If your getting pictures from BBC1 then your dish is parked at 28e.

looking from behind the dish you need to move it to the right and up a few degrees to get 16e

use this as its quite strong as a reference transponder

16e 11.554 V 28800

Thx, for quick reply, but what i don't understand is that at this moment i have on all for satellites a good signal could there be a problem with the box? Can it be the size of the dish picking all this signals. About 16e, how many degrees up should i put the dish at the moment is on 20 degrees. Any other tricks to finally catch it.

Thx

Hi furies76,

Your only on one satellite, the frequencies are duplicated as said.

For W2 16e, use 10.956h Al$atTV

And the chances are that you will not be able to view the "Ghost" channels on any of the sats your dish is not directly pointing at... my old Samsung does this trick just to try and kid me!

I married Miss Right. I just didn’t realise her first name was always.
