8 way Diseqc switch How do they work?

Hello there i hope someone can answer me a question regarding DiSeqC switches.
I understand how a 4 way works as ive had one before i used to have a 4way in the following way:
lnb 1 = 13e Hotbird = DiSEqC A on receiver
lnb 2 = 19.2e Astra 1 = DiSEqC B on receiver
lnb 3 = 0.8w Thor = DiSEqC C on receiver
lnb 4 = 7e Eutelsat = DiSEqC D on receiver

My question is if this is the way a 4 way works how does an 8 way work.
Do i need a switch or do you run two satelklite cables into the house. Sorry if this question has been asked before.

Not used one, but they use Diseqc1.1 instead of Diseqc 1.0, as Diseqc 1.0 can only work with a max of 4 inputs. You can also feed two 4-way Diseqc 1.0 switches into a 2-way diseqc 1.1 I believe.

Some switches also use Diseqc 1.2 and and controlled like a motor.
