Nice photos and results, and the dish looks like it is in good shape.

Now all you have to do is tell the wife and kids the garden is off bounds.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"

well, luckily have no wife or kids so no problem there although that said i can stand right infront of the dish, and even inside and it has no noticable effect on the picture, only if i stick something directly infront of the lnb does it break up.

very nice have you got showtime in for the football ?

the neighbours must not mind the dish as it will be very large in size.

wouldn't a 1.8m have been enough for 7west ?

i've got every nilesat transponder and all are over 80% quality when overcast, today was bright and it was up near 95% on my technomate box

neighbours helped me build it and yes i have showtime channels.

Its possible the dish is overkill, but its for commercial use (my garden is only a temporary site) so better be safe that sorry

My System: Dreambox

Beautiful project

Excellent set-up

What else is there to say?

Just great!

I have one question though:

Can you receive 11374 H and 11411 H?

These are 2 new transponders for Showtime (with the Orbit merger).

They are not on Nilesat, but on Atlantic Bird 4.

Can you receive them?

How much signal?

Thanks!

I know some one is west wales who had showtime on a 2.4m dish but because of the old bag in the street he had to remove the dish.

Showtime arabia can be picked up on a 1.8m dish in cardiff and also a member on here crossbones had it on a 1.8m in swansea.

Hans, according to _http://www.nilesat.com.eg/sattechinfo.htm neither Nilesat 101 nor 102 can cover this frequency range, so there are 2 possibilities: Either because of the cool air invasion your 3m is now able to get these 2 of AB4A (please don't get it mixed up with the former and much easier AB4) or they have moved to AB2 at 8W.

And returning to the initial thread topic i'd like to thank for the photos. Very nice installation indeed.

lol thanks for the warm comments, this is my first install, but luckily i had the bank roll to do it well. The trade price for this dish should be ammended, as i've said paradigm are retailing these dishes at 1350 ex vat with the kingpost at 365 ex vat.

I will take some more high res photos with my proper camera and set them up.

With regard to dish take down worry, given that the neighbours helped me lift the dish onto the mount, i dont think its a major worry
