Offset LNb set up/help

Hi All.

I have a 1m dish and have managed to get 28.2,19,13,9,or(7) with focal lnb at 19.2

I want to get 1w without changing the focal lnb. would this be possible or would i have to change the focal lnb and if so to what.

Any help appriciated.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think it will work focussed on 19.2E, 1W is too far away. You might get something, try it and see.

9E or something like would work OK for 19.2E to 1W, but you'd most probably have problems with 28E then, but a minidish could be used for that anyway.

Alternatively motorize it.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the good advice.

i tried to set the main focus on 13e but was having a lot of problems posibly due to a wall just 3 feet away which covers about a third of my dish.

Any moved everything back ie main focus on 19.2 and messed about a bit and managed to get 5e only some transponders though will jugel about a bit to try and get 1w. if not will reposition my dish.

One question,at the moment i have 28.2,19.2,13,9and 5e what would be the best way of automaticaly swtching lnbs. i am using 2off 4x1 diseqc 2.0 and a manual a+b switch but i want to get auto switching for posible 8 lnbs.

Advice apprecited.

thanks robo.

At the moment main focus being 19.2 e, i am going to try for 9e how much or how far to the right do i have to move the dish when looking at the dish(infront of the dish)

Secondly would i have to make a change to the elevation, by how much as i do not have a scale on my dish, would it be flater or more vertical than the elevation for 19e.

thanks.

any help welcome.

Elevation would go up by about 4 degrees if you are moving that far.

You might best invest in a small satellite meter, even the cheap tenner in-line one will give you some ponters.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"

Move it to the west by about 10 degrees. On a 2inch diameter pole, that means moving the clamp round by about 5mm.

Of course, just whacking it round a bit a and up a bit, whilst monitoring the appropriate transponders seems to work well too.

thanks all.

Tried to move the dish to the right a little, got signal but when i scanned i was recieving channels of astra 2 ie 28.2e.

Does this mean that i am correct for say hotbird but out on my elevation. if so do i tilt the dish so it lies flater or the orther way ?

Move it to the other right, i.e left when looking at the dish face.

It needs to tilt UP a little more than 19.2E. ( yes less vertical)

Here's a good transponder on 9E to use:

11996 V , 27500 , 3/4
