My System: Penta 85cm, Quad LND, DM8000,Nabilosat Blackhole v11. |
I am getting a DM8000 and will be getting another receiver for the bedroom later on, i would like a motorised dish, think around 1m but i keep seeing that some 85cm are as good as the 1m ones. What dish is better? Also what LNB will i need? will i need a quad one? Thanks

My System: TM6800HD, TM1000, TM600 Linux,TM5200, TM2200 motor, Triax TD110 dish + Fortec 85cm. Meter=Satlook Micro+G2 NIT | Hi, The quad LNB is to run four receivers, or four tuners actually. I don't know how many tuners the DM8000 has but if it has two and you want to run another one as well, then yes you'd need a quad. Bear in mind though, that only one receiver can control the motor, decided at install time. The 85cm dish you would have heard mention is the Fracarro Penta, supposedly performs like some 1m, but it won't perform as well as the better performing 1m dishes, like the Gibertini 1m for example.

If the main receiver has an IF out, this can be connected to a second receiver, rather than using a twin LNB. As long as the main receiver is switched off it should work. I can only confirm this operation however using a Technomate receiver with USALS being used on both receivers. Without USALS there may problems, I just don't know.

My System: Zone1, DSI8215 SkyHD, Thomson DSI4214, TF5000CI, Dreambox DM800 HD PVR - Nab BH0.12, TM-5200D, Gibertini 104cm, SNH-031, 36v Actuator, Vbox-II, 42°E to 30°W, Sling Media, Televes H45 Digital Processing Analyser, Satlook Micro+G2 NIT, Rover SDM 1s | Yes, IF loop out to the second receiver would work and allow motor control.

The Invacom and Inverto have good reports and seem to perform.
