Hi Robbo!

Many thanks for coming round and fixing my problem, what a muppet eh!
If only I'd found you guys before I found "the other one"

Robbo I need to speak with you about Receivers mate, sorry I missed your call earlier, work gets in the way of everything!

Anyone who doesnt know Robbo (Mark) I cannot recommend him enough, top bloke!

My System: TM6800HD, TM1000, TM600 Linux,TM5200, TM2200 motor, Triax TD110 dish + Fortec 85cm. Meter=Satlook Micro+G2 NIT

The actual quality of the installation was alright. Ordinary really cheapo screw-on F's, blue electrial tape around the connector instead of self amalg', but nothing to give serious worry. Even using a Sky dish with a single LNB, with limited skew, proved to perform very well.

Have replied to your email Keith4444.

The Technomate 5000 series will both work a Diseqc motor fine and can have a HDD added via USB for recording purposes. A Sky dish can be motorised for a laugh, but it doesn't get many sats.

hi keith,
wonder if you could help my mum is subscribing for the greek channels ert 1/ antenna etc aparantly some time ago they moved something so she just had new dish and lmb and had it tuned it in to hellas sat 39east also the company in germany sent her a black reciever box which she puts her card in to but it says when pluged in "no signal is being recieved" tried tuning it in although it should be plug and play still no change, had satelite man round who said the box was faulty ,sent it to germany and they sent another ( think it was the same one) followed by phone call saying it had been tested with no problem we tried replacement but still the same, running out of ideas i tried her old reciever a manhaton, reset to factory defaults and tuned to hellas 39 east, recieved 80+ channels mostly turkish no greek channels scrambled or otherwise, been looking at forum and although the 60cm dish has been tuned in only 2 weeks ago im wondering if its pointing to correct satelite , manhatton on screen display says hellas sat 30 east but someone said to me that the channel can be renamed, im stuck !!!!!!! why wont the new box they sent her pick anything up ? do i need it ?

Hi mate,

You should be able to get ERT and Ant for free (I am!) as long as your dish is pointing to the Hellas satellite. Are you 100% sure its pointing to 39 degrees east? I thought mine was (after numpty satellite man came and pointed it the first time) it was not until Robbo came and did the job properly that we got the channels we were after!
I'm sure Robbo will be along to this thread soon mate, or someone in your area.
As for boxes I'm using my father in laws Technomate TM 1000-D and it works perfectly. I'm sure any box would work and for you to go through 3 boxes it does sound like your dish is the problem to me!
Like the guys on here told me, if your not getting the channels you want then your not pointing to the right satellite!

Sorry I cannot be more help, but someone will be long here who can!

Good luck!

Keith

Yep, the dish is most probably pointing at 42E.

It needs to go west by about 3 degrees and up a little bit.

It's a very quick and easy job to fix, if you know what you are doing.

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Get the installer back to re-align onto the correct satellite, that's what you paid for.

Not me your honour
Hellas 39e should be an easy setup/alignment and a doodle for a seasoned installer.

The two channels mentioned above are fta, I'm watching them as we speak.

Satellite names can be changed in the receiver sat list and many share the same or similar frequencies.

What card does she have? i.e what is the package called that she subscribes to? Maybe she is getting some encrypted channels as well, that we're not.
