I have an Invacom LNB which is now getting on, but its a great bit of kit. The problem is that I've noticed that the window which protects the feedhorn has a a big hole in it; probably due to ageing, the unit still works fine. Can this be replaced? It looks like the actual housing is moulded plastic, can this be removed? I have an old faultly LNB and was thinking of pitched the cap and somehow fitting it to this unit.

Skystar2 /Twinhan SD /TS S2-3200 pci cards | Hi Smiffie .. So long as the material chosen to cover the feed is transparent to the incoming signal it should be ok .. A cover grafted from another LNB should do the job just fine... rgds VS

The only damage I could see was where peices of the window had flaked off and dropped down the horn, which I shook out. I then marked up a thin sheet of plastic using the flange as a template, cut a disk out of the sheet and glued it onto the flange using araldite rapid. Re-clipped the weather proof case over the top and re assembed, ready for the winter.
