GT SAT motor - DM15AT

Usually Germans are very precise and accurate but this time 1 e-shop is cheating on me:

I ordered and paid for a CT HH 390 and today I got a GT SAT motor - DM15AT

What is that? They assure me it is the same as the HH390...indeed on th e box it is written:

-Aluminium gear box
-Main gear in metal
-All accessories in stainless

Have you ever heard about that? Shall I return it?

Thanks

Well

Tell them that it is not acceptable and that they can pick up the GT SAT motor - DM15AT and deliver what you ordered a CT HH 390. If unable to supply then a full refund is required. They cannot supply a substitute without your permission unless their terms and conditions allow them to but well did you read them? I would certainly be heavy handed and get your card company onto the case immediately if they respond negatively....

Honestly I am curious to try it...what do you all advice?

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

Whilst I agree with Topper that they shouldn't have given you an alternative Product without your consent, I've just spent a while comparing the specs, appearance and prices and it seems to me that they are remarkably similar. But as satelliteman said, not identical. Not a clone, unlike many of the Motek variants.

However, the best price I could find for the GT SAt is €49.50, whereas the Clarke Tech seems to be a few € more.

Do you mind telling us what you were actually charged (excluding carriage)? It may be that instead of charging you return postage, they ought to be giving you a rebate to keep the one you've got!

I bought it for 49.50 euro and I just proposed them to send me a smart card and I will keep it ...let's see...in any case it appears very well made

€49.50 isn't a bad price for a Motor with Metal gearing anyway.

Let's hope you get the compensation you asked for (Smart Card for what, exactly?) and that would seem to be a decent outcome

I guess they just changed the web site...he sent 2 links to show me that it is equal to a HH390

Here 1: _https://www.satplace.de/product/1403/GT-DM15MG_Metal_Gear.html

and

Hmmm!

Prices aren't exactly equivalent, though.

Makes it look like you've benefited by €5.

Call it a draw and get it fitted

After all they are not so bad:

"we had send you the same motor only the name is an other one. We had only send it, because we want that you have your order as soon as possible. If you don´t want it, please send it back! You have to pay for the transfer in advance but we transfer it back when we send your complete money again to your account. "

my answers " I'll keep it...thank you anyway for your concern"

Fair enough - it would still have been better if they'd EMailed you before sending the substitute, but all's well that ends well

If I understand it correctly, they would reimburse any return carriage costs, so you are right - that is decent service.

that's correct: I was supposed only to pay in advance the return carriage costs ...and yes, I made them clear to inform the client upfront ....but they just wanted to delivery it asap.
Indeed on Friday night I paid.... and on Monday morning I got it at my office while they were talking about to wait for 3-5 working days

Today was very sunny in NL, so immediately I installed this "unknow" motor and everything went ok ...my feeling is positive ...BUT do not buy it because the head and the bracket are smaller than a HH390...although I noticed it to be very precise and fast...probably because it is its very first day :-)
