| I am using a 1.8 mtr offset solid dish, KU band LNB but as I'm at the edge of the footprint, the reception can be marginal in poor weather. I also have the option to use a 3mtr mesh dish which can be fitted with a KU band LNB. Is there any advantage in using the large dish even though it's mesh rather than solid. Thanks | ||

My System: 1 Meter Primestar Elliptical C/KU. Twinhan 1025 PCI(Linux), Coolsat 6000, Winegard 76 cm dish. 8' Unimesh, HCC9300 Receiver. Diamond 9000 HD, 1m prime focus, 1.2 m prime focus, both on C Band. ![]() Though defeated by the evil Fresnel this warrier will return victorious! |
Assuming the 3m dish id Prime Focus you will need a proper Ku lnbf. Go to the Invacom site and study their Ku Scalar feedhorn. A Ku lnbf designed for an offset feed dish will under illuminate your 3m dish. | |||
