3 inch pole mount recommendation

Hi,

I need a 3 inch pole to mount a motorised dish on, approx 1.2 metre dish, standing on the ground. I noticed that satellite superstore sell something for around 135 quid, which is always one option. Can I obtain/make a stand for less than that? Are there any cheaper ones, or is that what I can expect to pay?

thanks,
-biff.

My System: None

Look at www.cpc.co.uk

Their catalogue no SE00386 Ground stand for dishes 1.0 to 1.3m £27.72 (ex vat)

If your order is over £35 (excl vat) delivery is free. Usually takes 2 days.
I've been dealing with CPC for about 4 years and absolutely no problem at all.

Nice link, but it doesn't say if 3 inch or 2 inch. I suspect it will be 2 inch dia. Worth bearing in mind for the future though...

I thought about this, but isn't scaffold generally 2 inch? I've tried using a 2 inch pole and home-made adaptor (a thick sheet of aluminium I beat into a curve) with the 3-inch mount on the dish and it wasn't very satisfactory. The dish, frequently got 're-pointed' in high winds!

I'll be looking forward to that photo...

cheers,

-biff.
