My System: re hashing all sytems
newbie help/advice required please

Havin been out of touch for a while (sat wise i mean).

Havent touched anything since skyscan and uniden stuff.

Need advice on a brand new set up.

What do I need (not sky thanks)?

Got a rough budget (£350 or so), ideally want a motorised.

Heard the tecnomate 1500 ci+ was ok as a receiver.

Want to watch prem footy and films.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

That amount should do it, 90cm - 1m dish, low noise LNB, DiseqC motor and something like the Technomate, or perhaps one of the lower priced the Dreamboxes. There are loads of receivers out there, but look for the ones with the best unofficial support, that's why I like the Dreambox, there is a whole online support community.

If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots

Hello Andi!

Welcome to the forum

A popular setup here (esp for football) is a Dreambox & a motor e.g.

DB500s and Motek SG2100 <£200

The 500s doesn't have USB or a built in hard drive like it's bigger brothers but you can plug in a CAT5 cable and record to your PC hard drive.

Dreambox section

Motorised section

Football

Good Luck!
