help needed T&K and a bit of mesh

This is my first time insatalling a satalite system and I'm not very practical. so could some body please read my plans and advise me if this will work.

Usefull Background information.
I live in A semi detatched house in St Anne's (near Blackpool). The front faces east and the back west.

I have bought
A manhatten 140alu Diseqc motor
A comag CO-80 80cm Dish (Lidl special)
A 0.1db lnb
A 50 meter roll of sattalite coax (from B & Q)

I have a PC setup with a skystar 1 CI (Twinnhan clone) and a skystar 2.
The PC is runing progdvb and my theater. The skystar 1 turns the manhattan mottor quite happily and both cards can recieve sky quite happily.

I'm planing to use 36" T&K Brackets and a lengh of 7 foot scaffold at the back of the house and mount the dish 3 foot above the roof line (just to increase my range East to include hotbird and any other sats I can squeeze out of east).

I've spoken to my neighbours and explained What I'm planing and there happy for me to install it as long as I paint the pole brick red and the dish black to blend in to the house from there view.
I know that I should really ask for planning permission but my view is if the meighbours are OK with it and it blends into the souroundings while being safe the councel doesn't need to know.

Reading previous posts I think I should put the K bracket inleast a foot down from the facia and secure with expanding bolts and then put the T Bracket about 3 foot down from the K. So I would need a 7 foot scaffolding pole.

My Questions are.

Is there anyway I can make this any safer Living by the coast we do get very strong winds and a 80cm solid dish would make a excellant sail.

I was wondering if adding a extra set of T&K's would make things more secure.

i.e. put the first K bracket a foot under the facia, put a T Bracket 3 feet under the K Bracket, 3 feet under the T add another T then another 3 feet down another K. I can then get a 12 foot scafolding pole

Second the manhattan says it can take a 140cm alluminium dish but I wouldnt like to try it in a costal area that gets very strong winds. I was wondering that maybe a alumium mesh dish would cut down on the force by the wind quite dramaticaly.

Also can any one advise me what's the largest aluminium mesh dish I can safely mount on my manhattan, above facia level in a windy costal area.

If needed I would be happy to build my own dish using fine alluminium mesh and mechano over a pararabolic curve if it would enable me to have a larger dish.

Any help or constructive critacism would greatley be appreciated.
My main concern is safety so please feel free to pull my plans apart.

Hey Dazzed and confused, Personally I would put your T at the top (about 3 bricks down) and then your K 3-4 foot below that depending on what space you have. The bigger the gap, the better. As you live near the coast you could add another K if you wanted. My own dish sits on a 3 inch steel mast about 8 feet long and is held up with 1x 12inch T and 2x 12 inch K's, and is going no where!!

As for the dish size, your motor would comfortly take the Triax 1.1meter dish, wouldn't be to sure about anything larger tho.

Thanks Timbo,
Thats just the kind of advice I've been looking for can I ask where you got the 3" pole and Brackets from I'd like to make sure I buy good quality fixings.

I'll do a bit more research on the Triax 1.1 a little latter on. First I'm eager to get what I have set up and have a good play.

My System: Satellite=Motorized Triax 88cm&a DM800HD.Sky,only because of its free broadband! Comp=3.2 AMD 64bit,1 gig of Corsair XMS,Radeon X800 Pro,NEO Platinium mobo

I think you should get rid of the B&Q cable, get yourself some RG6 or CT100 cable unless of course it's top quality but that can't go in the same sentence as B&Q,can it?

got the pole for £25 from a company that put up signs and the brackets are from my local satellite dealer for £20. Yes, you would be better opting for quality foam filled cable such as CT100. I used M10 Coach bolts and nylon plugs to hold the brackets on. Try and make sure that your mast is totally plumb when installing, as this will make life easier!

You must make sure it's vertical or it will be impossible to set up the arch.

dont go for an aluminium dish as it will bend in strong winds, a steel or channelmaster dish would be more suited

Have you ever seen a steel dish after six months facing the west coast?, I have it is not a pretty sight, rust sets in after 60 days because the sand in the wind takes the protective paint off then the saltwater and rain make it rust. Acrylic may be better or glassfibre.

I'll take back the cable to B&Q and order the CT100 from satcure along with there 2 inch pole and 2 x 24" T&K's including post and vat I think it will come in around a £92 a bit steep but it will give me piece of mind.
