My System: Zone 2 60cm dish,Technomate 7750 2VA 2CI,Sky digibox & Zone1 dish. |
I am currently trying to set up my tm7750 to receive Atlantic bird 3, I am only interested in receiving France 2/3/5 on 11591 v 20000. I do not seem to be able to pick this frequency up,I can pick up the non FTA France 2/3/5,but cant get the FTA. Any ideas as to why I seem not to be able to get 11591V s/r 20000 ,but can receive other channels from Atlantic bird? Scuttya

Blog Entries: 3 My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum. | What can you actually receive on AB3 and are you sure that you are spot on the satellite??

My System: Zone 2 60cm dish,Technomate 7750 2VA 2CI,Sky digibox & Zone1 dish. | I seem to be able to pick up Pink and quite a few others,I did get ARTE ,but this was a little pixely. When it says you have to have clear sky, where do you draw the line as far as the horizon goes.i have 3 dish sizes I could try,45cm,60cm & 80cm, i am currently using the 80cm.

If you have a DECT phone near the receiver, unplug it, as they have been known to affect satellite reception on transponders where the IF is similar.

My System: Zone 2 60cm dish,Technomate 7750 2VA 2CI,Sky digibox & Zone1 dish. | Regarding the actual position in the sky of the satellite, I guess this would be at about 31 degrees above the horizon, is this correct? if so I may have to put the dish higher as I have some obsticles (in the distance) in the line of sight. Is digital satellite like digital terrestrial tv ? I have come across some channels not being picked up due to misalignment of a normal digital aerial, is this the case also with satellite ? My System: Zone 2 60cm dish,Technomate 7750 2VA 2CI,Sky digibox & Zone1 dish. | so , if I imagine my eyes are in the middle of the dish I should see nothing but clear (Blue!!) Sky ? I do live down a slight hill and south is up the hill, this may be the problem,I think I ma need to get a longer ladder and put the dish up on top of the house ! The elevation of the dish is about 31 degrees currently, i am sure this about correct for cambridgeshire (I think the precise elevation is 30.31 degrees). Thanks for your help ,the forum is a great place for newbies like me,I am learning slowly. Regards Scuttya

If you can see clear sky whilst looking from under the dish, but above the pole, then you should be able to see the satellite.

My System: 28e, 19e, 13e, 30w | I've got a 'Porty' dish (35-42cm *ish*) and it can easily pick up the France Television transponder on 5w. I'm located in Hampshire and have had no problems getting a signal through double glazing!
