My System: new motorised system
electric shock

I am having trouble setting up my motorised system. I am unable to get any chanels to load up on my receiver. i have been adjusting the dish for over a week but still the same.(quality of signal never gets past 23)
I had another go today and noticed that when i touched the mouting bracket and the HH motor i got a mild tingle (electric shock) is this usual?

I have called out a satellite guy who is arriving tommorow.
my lat 53.713 long 1.641 west yorkshire.

Any help appreciated

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Not uncommon to get a tingle, there is another recent thread concerning the same subject. This is unlikely to be the source of your problems, it is more likely to be dish alignment.

My System: Dreambox 7020, CM 1.2 with invacom quad c120 & channelmaster feedhorn.

The 'tingle' you have been experincing is just your body connecting to the earth. A cheap satellite meter might bring you more sucess in setting up your dish and could save you ££ on getting out an installer....
