My System: Technomate 7655 1.0 mtr dish |
I posted into rolfw thread about my setup and channel hopper sugested I post some pictures of my set up, well here they are. The dish is not facing true south it is on Hotbird but what should the settings be? (the dish is facing Hotbird so I know i have got to go back to true south)After reading all the info on these forums I feel confident to venture onto the extension again and give it another try. File 405 = elevation File 406 = dish measurement (not very good) think the scale starts at 15 and goes up to 60 File 408 = latitude side file 409 = view of the southern sky I live in Bridgwater in Somerset any help or advice will be eagerly pounced upon and hopefully if I can I will attemp another go. Blog Entries: 3 My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum. | Well first off, your latitude is 51 degrees and it looks like you have your scale set at 55, so that is too high.

My System: Technomate 7655 1.0 mtr dish | Thanks Rolf, looking closer at the image it does appear to be marked orginally on the area around the 51 degrees mark, if i reset this then try swiveling the mount back to face true true south then change the angle on the dish up or down and attempt to pick up thor, hopefully by the weekend i should be marking progress, I have got to be careful , I don't want to lose Hotbird (got my Artcard ready) Many thanks for giving me a start i'll keep you posted | ||

In Bridgwater, your longitude is 3W, so you can also look for 5W, it has analogue channels on it so if you have access to an analogue receiver, it is easy to find. You will need to offset your motor by a couple of degrees whichever you go for, as neither is your true South.
