My System: Metronic Touch box 3
Beginner

I have just purchased a Metronic Touch BOX 3 digital satellite receiver from Maplins to use in France at a location about 40 miles south of Nantes. I want to use it to receive the Astra 2D transmissions. Any advice on setting it up and not to get it confused with the other Astra satellites apparently also on the same 28.2 degree setting would be appreciated.

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

No real trick to it, you will receive all of the satellites at 28.2/28.5 East, you just need to make sure that the transponder/frequency you have set on the receiver is a current one. http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html

What dish are you going to use and do you have a sat meter/beeper?

The system uses an 80cm dish and i have got a sat meter/beeper. She who must be obeyed wants to watch "corrie" while we are in France which i am told is now available on Astra 2D. Anything to keep the peace!

LOl, you are not alone. What you have should be fine for that purpose.

Just remember that as a rule of thumb, on the average offset dish, the dish face is pretty much vertical when aligned to Astra 28.2 in the UK or Northern/mid France.
