Lacuna Sat Meter... battery help

Hi,

I have just got hold of a Lacuna sat meter, from a mate... however I was told I would need a new battery, which I have now bought from "...superstore". I can not seem to find the battery charger.

I have found (in my bag of wires etc) a Fixed Voltage Regulated Mains Adapter (12V DC 400mA) with several output plugs.... assuming the plug fits into the meter, will this charger be OK to use with Lacuna, as I see on their instructions it says only use the official charger..... but the online store does not stock them!!!

I don't want to destroy the new battery, before it's first use.

WHATEVER YOU DO DONT plug that charger in the meter..

I did this to the same meter and it fried the battery.. i dont have the meter.. but coincidently a mate is dropping one of these meters off supposadly tonight .. ill let you know if there is any markings on the charger as to where it came from

Yes, please let me know what the battery charger says, as I've no idea where to get the correct one from.
