Problems with aligning lidl dish

Hi,

I can get a good signal on astra 1b and get bbc worldwide and loads of foreign channels, but no luck on the BBC ones on 28e. I can't even FIND 28e! I'm using the sat finder and that finds 1b only.

Anyone any ideas as to what I can do to get the free BBC channels please? Living on the south coast - Dorset.

Hi David_uk,
I am unaware of Astra 1b,I thought it wasn't broadcasting any longer, can you please post a few of the channels you have, including frequency, and we can track which satellite you are on, and then advise how to get Astra 2A, 2B, and 2D on 28.2 E.
1B used to be broadcasting at 19.2 E but we can only confirm if you are on this satellite by the channels you are receiving.
Best wishes
Mickha

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

Astra 1B has gone to the great scrapyard in the sky. Shes been out of service a year or so.

Well, the menu on the sat box (cheapo lidl one) does say Astra 1b 19.2E. However as it's a cheapo box that may be incorrect / wrong etc.

Anyway, some of the channels I can get are:-

ZDF 11954 H 27500
RTL 12188 H 27500
BBC world 11597 V 22000
Sky News as above frequency with different identifiers

Thanks

Hi David_uk,
you are on Astra 1, 19.2 E, you need to move your dish 9 degrees East to get Astra 2 on 28.2 E.
As you are facing the dish move it to the right and you need to alter the elevation slightly.
As you're moving the dish you might pick up other satellites, probably 23.5 E and 26 E on your meter.
You should have no problem picking up Astra 2, providing you have a clear line of sight, but it might take a little patience and gentle movement of the dish.
Best wishes

Maybe worth marking the dish position and moving around to see what other 'goodies' can be found using your set-up.
