First the 1.8m channel master and now for the 1.2

I ordered 2 andrew 1.2m dishes for some one, Today i got them but on the invoice it said out of stock of the polar mount so i contacted my suppler and they told me the polar mount for the 1.2 is now discontinued.

So i just got off the phone to Andrew corp in the USA who confirm they no longer make the polar mounts any more for the 1.2m

What a joke so first andrew do this for to type 180 1.8m dish a few months back and now they do it to the type 120 1.2m dish,

So now im stuck with two 1.2m dishes that can only be az-el mounted

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

I'm sure that I could get them made, but they probably wouldn't be cheap.

Why don't you put the Jaeger SMR1224 with the adapter plate instead?

The adapter plate even got pre-drilled holes for the 1.2m Andrew.

Polar mount systems on plastic dishes have always been too expensive to manufacture as far as accountants are concerned. I tried for almost a year to get a prototype made up for the Prodelin stuff I sold a while ago.
It shows just how cheap the main reflector is when built in bulk.

Take Likvids advice after speaking to the customer.

My System: 1.2M & 55cm Gregorian Dish`s, 1.5m Gibertini on a Jaeger 1224 H-H motor. Dreambox 7025 200gb HD, Vbox-II. SS2 Card.

Now that is bad news! There cant be that much a demand any more for motorised dishes

Yeah the SMC reflector is probably very cheap to make.

It's all about quantity these days.

Series 1130 (the 1.2m). The polamount would require a larger adapter plate than that of the CM1.2 as the securing bolts are further apart.

Sooo tempting to say what I'm thinking!!!!

Anyways, why do Andrews charge so much for something that, to them, is dirt cheap to make? You'd think they'd include a proper mount for their larger dishes with the prices they charge...
