no hotbird on twin lnb

hello.
i set up my dish(80 cm) with a twin lnb pointed at 13E for hotbird for the central lnb, the second one should receive astra 19.2. in the store they gave me a 2 in 1 diseqc switch and told me to put the hotbird lnb to position A and the astra to B. i have never managed to get hotbird signal. astra works fine. when i tried to switch A and B nothing worked.
i used to watch with a no-name receiver, but i am now switching to a skystar2 pci card, with the same results. what have i done wrong?
thanks for the help.

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Well in real terms a twin LNB only points at one satellite, but has to identical outlets for two receivers.

If it is a monoblock with a single output, then it doesn't require a separate switch.

Can you take a couple of photos and post them as an attachment?
