My System: Receivers: Manhattan Plaza ST 550 160gb PVR, Triple Dragon, Strong SRT 4375, Technomate TM-1500 Super, Sky +, 2*TV Drives 1.2 metre offset Channel Master dish with Supermount H to H motor, Quad 0.3db Invacom LNB with matched feedhorn. Currently see

RD100, I'd love to try cband. Using the same dish as you, however my 1.8 dish can only see approximately 36east to at least 12 west, as it's on the ground in a backyard. Not much on cband I guess in this part of the arc? I wish I could elevate my 1.8 metre a bit higher like my Andrews 1.2 metre, but I don't think the neighbours, authorities and the weather would allow me

cheers,
celspid

My System: Mostly gathering dust cos I'm a lazy git. Porty dish face blew off the mount, not too pleased...

The Sleepy Hollow pollracle has spoken!

If it keeps raining, get one of them marquee things and sit it over the back of the dish (or wherever you have to stand to adjust it), and as they're usually plastic it shouldn't make much difference if it's slightly over the dish...

Offset dishes are shit for C-band as their isn't any good C/Ku-band combo for it and you need special feeds.

Not quite true...now there is a combo C/KU-band lnb available and combined with a special feed there are very good results on offset dishes.

Rd100 has explained this set up to me over on dudez. This is what he said:-
Crossbones if you want c-band to work the best it can on your dish read this post of mine here which is tryed and tested by me for hours when i had my 1.8m andrews,

I use to have c-band on my 1.8m andrew (channel master) i still have both the feedhorn's one is linear the other is circular,

This is the feedhorns you need in the link below
h**p://www.andrew.com/search/BN_PA-100530-EN.aspx

If are if you having a play about you will need the both types like i have Linear & circular,

Was having a play about with them today on my 1.2m andrew's can get 806 40.5'w and intelsat 805 55'w and pas-9 58'w,

But on my 1.8 i can get c-band on pas 68.5 east aswell,

But now for my 1.8m prime focus i have a voltage switching linear V&H and circular R&L C-BAND LNB-F, I find these better than doing it the old way with a Corotor plus it is volt switching so no servo is needed, see below:

h**p://www.dmsiusa.com/images/bsc421a.jpg

I also have a KU & C BAND LNB-F which i have not tried it yet but will tomorrow which uses diseqc to change between C & KU-BAND and it is also polarity voltage swiching aswell, see below:

He sure knows his stuff, top man Rd100
