Echostar 3600ipv Settings

Hi, me again!

My dad has recently moved house and has taken all of his motorised kit with him, the receiver being an Echostar 3600ip Viaccess.

I have got him a good price for a motorised installation but the installers want to know if the Echostar is DisEsq compatible as they wont do it otherwise.

They said for him to set the receiver up and look on the menu to see if it is DisEsq or ARM(?). Which menu should he be looking at and how does he get to the menu to find this info? He has it switched on now but can only see something called 'autosat' which I presume isnt what he is looking for?

Many thanks in advance chaps.

Regards

Phil

P.S. I will, of course, take full credit for the answer when I speak to him and pretend I knew all along and didn't have to ask anybody

The AD3600 only has Diseqc 1.0, which means you can only use an actuator ('ARM') or 36V motor to drive the dish.

No provision for using a motor that uses other Diseqc commands to move the dish.

You can download a manual from _www.echostar-int.com.

My System: 1.2M & 55cm Gregorian Dish`s, 1.5m Gibertini on a Jaeger 1224 H-H motor. Dreambox 7025 200gb HD, Vbox-II. SS2 Card.

If it was set up at the old address, then you could probably do it at the new. If the dish settings have not been altered, and he hasnt moved that far away, lat and long etc.

Even if the installer`s do it, then why are they asking if its diseq. The actuator I assume is still with your fathers dish?

I really am not sure to be honest, he says it still has everything. He has moved about 25 miles away.

The installers said they wouldnt do an ARM install and only DisEsq, which is fair enough as at least they are upfront about what they will do.
