My System: Not set
Help! All signal gone

I have a motorised system, with 1m disc and Technomate 1500 CI+ receiver. About 2 days ago when I was watching a Digital+ chanel, all of a sudden the receiver reported bad or no signal. Then I changed to another satellite, it seems all the satellites have the same problem. I used motorise setting, to move the disc, but no signal found. I checked the motor and the disc, there is no sign of any loose, shift or damage. The weather of that day was abosulutely fine, no wind or rain.
Today I tried to adjust the angle of the dish hoping to get the signal back, but not sucesseful. No matter whatever angle I moved the satellite, the signal quality never get over 7%. The level is constantly 68-70% (by the way, what does the level indicator mean? I refer to the two bars on the screen when you use motorise setting on TM1500. The upper bar is Level and the lower one is Quality). I don't know what is wrong now. Could it possibly be the problem of LNB? What should I do?

Well

It could be very many things but I would suspect either the ingress of water into the cable from the lnb to the stb, the lnb has failed or the receiver has developed a fault. The only way to eliminate the possibilities requires getting hold of other equipment and replacing logically and systematically to isolate the problem.

My System: Smart lnb, 1m Gibby dish, Stab motor, TM5200D receiver, 57east to 61west. DTT from Sudbury. Virgin Media broadband.

Living close to London Transport electric railway lines, my motor has lost direction a few times due to arcing from the railway. I just send the dish to zero/Go to Ref, this solves the problem for me. It might help you to try that winstonli.

Hello Mr Llew
If your post was in regards to my post. I am close to the junction where the Central line crosses the Piccadilly line, lots of arcs and sparks, more so during wet weather.
When I bought this property earlier this year, the seller was going into sheltered property, the old boy left his satellite gear set up (hence my equipment is second user). He told me what to do if the motor did not pick up the satellites and his advice seems to work. Perhaps it is airborn interference affecting the motor, or perhaps it is a mains born problem. Might think about running the receiver through a suppressor sometime in the future to see if that helps.
Anyhow, I thought that if the O/P tried sending his dish/motor to reference it might solve his problem.
