My System: Technomate 1500CI+,Gibertini motorised dish,Titanium 0.2db LNB |
2 questions really -I've got to go and sort out this satellite setup (photo enclosed). I wonder if someone could tell me a) what size they reckon that dish is, and b) the maximum size of dish I'm likely to be able to put on the bracket.

Blog Entries: 3 My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum. | That looks like a 60cm dish, possibly 70cm. Th bracket would probably take a 90cm, but depends where you want to point the dish, as the roof may foul the dish.

My System: DreamBox 7000s - Nokia Freeview - Several GameBoys - DS Lite - ZX81 - SNES - N64 - Sega Saturn Dreamcast - PlayStation - Gamecube - PSP - iPod - iPhone - XBox - PS3 - Wii - No Life! | Could be a 70 cm dish - the bracket could take a 90 cm but it depends on how exposed the site is to wind (weather looks great just now). The roof may restrict the size of dish. What satellite/s are you trying to pick up? It may just need re-aligned. Honest I didn't copy Rolfw!

My System: Technomate 1500CI+,Gibertini motorised dish,Titanium 0.2db LNB | Lol thanks for the replies folks! Well, my brief is to make sure my friends at their holiday home in France (lucky devils) can get just a few english channels. I am therefore going to try for Astra 2D (although I realise a bigger dish may well be needed). I suspect a new run on satellite cable will be needed at the very least! Failing that, as long as they can get BBC World and Sky News they'll be happy. The box I'm planning to take out there is a Technomate 1500CI+ Super. Would this be adequate?

You can check out the beams and dish sizes, for France, on the Astra site here... _http://www.ses-astra.com/corpSite/site_en/04_ASTRAFleet/satellite_list/astra2d/index.php

My System: SS1. 3.4Ghz Dual Core P4. 125cm Gibbi with Channelmaster feedhorn and Inverto C120 twin. 36v H to H ![]() ...And thou were the truest friend to thy lover that ever bestrad horse..." | Could be smaller than a 60 even. I would have said 50cm looking at the pole dia and relative LNB size. Just my tuppence worth. L
