My System: Motorised 1.2M Fibo looking between 45E - 60W, TM9100 Receiver running EDG-Nemesis 3.2 in flash
Have I got this right?

Ok, I'm about to install my first motorised mount and just want to know if I've got the idea right.
1. I've had a ground mount made for me, and it's sat on my flat garage roof - it's vertical in all directions.
2. I mount my motor, with the stub at zero, and align it with due south.
3. Mount the dish so that it's all inline with the zero on the stub.

Now, this the bit I'm not sure of - if I put my lat and long figures in the usals menu along with the long for the sat at 0.8 west, drive to the sat and adjust my elevation of the dish for max signal, would this, more or less, put me on the arc?

You can certainly use the USALS to offset the motor to the correct position, then move the whole lot on the pole and the elevation of the dish only to find Thor and it should put you pretty much on the arc. You of course also need to set your latitude on the motor itself, does it have a choice of elevation and latitude settings?

PS. If you put your equipment in your profile, it makes life easier.

Thanks Rolf, when you say ...USALS to offset the motor to the correct position...I take it that you mean offset for the correct position for Thor?

Yes, it would have made more sense if you knew what my equipment was. The mount is a Stab HH90 (which I've set to my Latitude as per instructions), a 90cm dish and, at the moment, a SL65 receiver. I say 'at the moment' because I'm goint to get a Techno TM 1500ci if I can 'see' enough satellites.
