Technomate 1500ci+ Blind Search

I am just attempting my first blind search on my 1500ci+, on Astra 19.2.

All reports say my receiver should be able to do a full search in about 20 mins but it has been going for over an hour and is only at 18%.

Is this correct or could it be a fault?

Cheers

Phil

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Blind searches will by nature take a long time, as they search at very small increments, on two polarities and two bands, plus will scan all of the different symbol rates and FEC rates. I used to do them with my PC card and they would take up to 24hrs. Not sure what the figure should be for the Technomate, but 20 minutes sounds a bit too quick for a proper blind scan.

tech

phil,
i had the same problem when i first got the techno and also it got stuck on a frequency, i have never used it since as far as blind search goes, i just use it as a ordinary satellite box fixed on one sat, mind i will say this, on week freguencys it is very good at holding the picture and not breaking up, i look at that as a big plus.

I thought it was a Super to be honest but I may have been misled! Is there any way of telling e.g. will the name on the receiver itself say 1500ci+ Super?

It`s not a huge problem but just slightly irritating when the quick blind search was one of the reasons I bought the box in the first place!

If it is a super it will say super on the front.

MY old tm1500ci+ would take about 14 hours to do a blind scan but my 1500 super takes about 15 min,

Hi philh,
This was supposed to have improved with the latest firmware update, have you updated your Technomate?

Just looked and it doesnt say Super so I`ve got a general 1500ci+. Not to worry, at least I know what to expect now.

I havent had chance to update yet Mickha, will hopefully do do so this weekend (my wife and I seem to have a tendency to want the laptop/telly at the same time. Needless to say, I end up reading a book

Thanks again everyone.
