A simple A-B switch will provide for, connection of two Lnb's (dishes) to one receiver

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

If it is an analogue receiver, then as Red Hugh says, use an A+B switch, if it is a digital receiver, with DiseqC switching, then a 2 way DiseqC switch can be used.

You can click on our advertisers at the top of the forum, Pulsat do the Global DiseqC switch, Mantesat do a couple of choices.

Thanks all

would something liek this do?

http://www.maplin.co.uk/images/full/a08ft.jpg

SO i assume the 2 points i connect both the sat leads in there and the one on top is the connection to reciever? what type wire / cable will i need to connect to the switch to receiver thanks
also one more question how would this thing work

example say i have the following channels configured to each dish..when i go to channel3 and 2 will it automatically pick up channel 3??

ch 1 - DISH 1
ch2 - dish 1
ch3 - dish 2
ch4 - dish 2

No, that is two way splitter, the switches I have linked to are DiseqC switches.

What receiver do you have? If it is a DiseqC receiver, then it is easy to set up so that it will automatically switch to whichever channel on whichever satellite you choose.

PS. The more information you supply, the more useful the replies are likely to be.

Ok, a Silvercrest, that should be easy to set up, you simply go into the satellite menu and allocate the two satellites with DiseqC A and B, then the receiver will switch seamlessly when changing channels.

You can connect the cables to the switch somewhere between the dishes externally and then use the existing satellite cable into the house. If you don't have an existing cable, then use a good quality copper shielded satellite cable, you can get it from Maplin or B&Q.

If you go for the Global DiseqC switch, then it has a waterproof cover, the other styles need waterproofing on the connections with self amalgamating tape or similar, as do the LNB connections.

Thanks for that mate!

Basically both the Wires from the satellite dish come thru the wall into the Living room, at the moment im just having to go at the back of the receiver and manually change the wire.

So with this switch I can use it indoors right? All I need to do is get the 2 LNB cables and connect them to that switch then get another LNB Cable (short I assume?) then connect it from the Swtich the receiver is this correct?

Thanks
