just wanted to know if there was a perfomance differance between a 80 cm mesh dish and the same in solid dish .as i was trying to pick up tthe s1 cannels on turksat .i used a online dish caculator and it recommended a 60 to 80cm dish so i used a 80 cm mesh dish .i can get the west beam channels but not s1 .the channel i was interested in was show turk and euro turk . many thanks

My System: Mostly gathering dust cos there's no room for dishes here... :( The Sleepy Hollow pollracle has spoken! | It'd be best to check your dish's alignment & LNB skew just to make sure your focussed on the satellite properly... As for Mesh vs. Solid, well, there's a thread in Einsteins Alcove on that topic: mesh vs solid dishes

My System: sky digibox also technomate tm 1000 ci motorised 80 cm dish | yea read the very long thread about mesh dishes and still no wiser on that one the dish arrived to me by the white van man the box in the useual condition so im thinking may be its slightly out of shape .in future i think i will order larger dishes than i need to compensate for the van man .think i get a 90 cm solid dish .as theres no more signal strenth coming from this dish.many thanks

My System: sky digibox also technomate tm 1000 ci motorised 80 cm dish | just fitted 1meter dish and it to is out of shape it looks ok but still no s1 beam channels .so i drilled hole in bottom of dish cable tied it to lnb arm stretched it back into shape now the bottom half of the dish is also reflecting the signal on to the lnb .and it works fine.the box that the dish arrived in looked fine .maybe a manufacturing fault .if any one is using these cheap pressed steel dishes .its worth just slightley flexing the dish .after its been alinged to see if more signal can be gained.
