usals or diseqc 1.2 ?

right installed my system other week and when in the settings whats the best to use usals or diseqc ?

because when i choose diseqc 1.2 and move from say 19e to 16e i lose signal but when using usals i can move between sats fine but the signal is quite low 76% on some channels, worse on 16e

is my dish too small for sats like 16e or is my alignment off some how

when it was first aligned the signal was like 86% for astra 1 &2 and reasonable for 16e as channels like fox crime was 74% and my music 60 ish

also the lnb postion where should it be, pushed up to the collar or what ?

the lnb should be vertical try sliding lnb in and out to optimise signal strength .

i have the lnb a quarter of an inch from the collar which seems best position

was going to try other lnbs to determine best one for my setup


seems i need to tweak it abit as art tp is 55% signal strength on hotbird

I have exactly the same problem you described last year.
I am new to motorised and wonder what was the eventual fix for this.
I suspect a reset of all hardware and search and store with Diseqc only.
Mine works fine with usals but loses sats when in diseqc and some wont store.

Hi wod.

USALS is good, but in Diseqc you can tweek you dish.

Goto 16e (No Signal) I think you get.
Go into your menu...Motor Settings, set to Diseqc,
and in there someware is Motor moving. It will move your motor
East or West (Tweeking motor).
Once you get the hang of that you can goto all the Sats and
fine tune for the best signal quality.
