My System: dreambox 7020 stab HH120 |
Isnt this STAB HH120 just rubbish? It has a lot of play - dish jumps left right in a light wind, is it made of cheap plastic inside? I keep losing Sirius 5.0E LOCK and SYNC every second with 1.2 meter dish in London. Does anyone else noticed a play in this so called best Diseqc motor? I am very disappointed. Im using Dreambox DM7020. I want to ask Stab for full refund hehe.

Blog Entries: 3 My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum. | Yep, noticed it on the last one I installed for someone, I believe that Likvid had similar problems, it is also very slow.

| It's common thinking among sat people that all small DiseqC motors are made for windstill only ! Use a solid actuator to move your dish. New actuators are more quiet that old, and have proper strenght. H2H is a joy with a Vbox and a SUPERJACK ( with reed sensor ) ! tt | |||

My System: Dreambox DM7025 + 90cm Fibo Dish with Moteck SG2100A mod + Inverto White 0.3dB lnb + 55cm Philips Gregorian + Stab HH-120 + modded BGSat 0.3dB lnb | I have a second-hand stab HH120 that came with one of my fibo dishes, and it is rock solid - no play in it whatsoever. Also, while cleaning it up I opened it up and had a look inside and I can tell you all the cogs etc are solid brass. Only downside is it is slow compared to my moteck motor, butr as it is on my secondary dish it is only used rarely, so no problem.

| Tested them all and the Stab is just a nightmare when it comes to play inside. Touch the dish on the rim and it moves back and forth at least 0.5 degrees. Also you can't reset it at the zero position as you can with Moteck, yes you can but then you need to open the case and remove the cog and shit. I know why there is such large slack and that is because if you have opened this motor you will notice that the bronze cog that goes into the plastic cog have too large gaps in the cogs. That's where the play comes from, they tolerate too large tolerances at the factory. It's a dummies motor. | |||

If the shaft isn't exactly at apex position from factory there is no way to adjust that with the Stab without opening it up, Moteck got a button for it underneath.

My System: dreambox 7020 stab HH120 | is there a possibility that Stabs are produced at different factories or even cheap chinese copies were made. When I got it brand new it didnt look rock solid and of high quality - even LNB and REC connectors were not tight enough, loose and rattling. I thought this is 'the best diseqc motor'. Italians appear to produce crap as always.

My System: Smart lnb, 1m Gibby dish, Stab motor, TM5200D receiver, 57east to 61west. DTT from Sudbury. Virgin Media broadband. | * cheekykid About 3dB down on the other 5 degrees east beams. Going in and out of lock during the recent high winds though, due to play in the motor. PR

My System: Fixed Gibertini 150 Dish, CM 120 on HH Supermount, 80cm on DiSEqC. |
I took delivery of a new one before Christmas. It semed to work indoors next to the receiver. But on installation developed a fault. It became uncontrollable, just oscillating between 0 and my 4 deg position. Contacted Stab, who agreed it was faulty.

My System: dreambox 7020 stab HH120 | Hi, I am from London west, ealing, sirius 5.0E signal is crap, even with 1.2m, could be some remote tree in a way, will try to raise a dish higher. some transponders are ok, some are bad - intermittent signal. Dish were jumping left right probably because wind got bounced from the wall in a funny way.
