My System: Triax TD88 (95cmx85cm), Technomate 1600 super, 0.2LNB, Moteck2100 motor. |
Hi all I am going to purchase my first mororised satellite system and would like advice. I would obviously like to pick up as many channels as possible particularly for premiership football(i know I will need some sort of subsciption but I would like the option), some spanish and czech channels and as many english ones as pos. Where I plan to set up the dish there is currently a sly dish. The path is clear for this dish but there are some houses at angles to the left and right. How can I check that I have a clear view of the main european satellites? (I am a complete novice). Also, I have been looking at all round packages for picking up as many channels including the premiership in the future, I have been quoted 210 for a tecnomate 1500ci with instructions how to patch, 90cm motorised dish 0.2 titanium lnb, and all the brackets and gear to get started. Is this a good set up for what I am looing for? and does the price seem reasonable? Many thanks

![]() | Hi mdlyons, the Technomate 1500 is a great receiver for beginners and there is a lot of support for it, and updates are very easy, you can get the receiver for less than £100, so whether your quoted system is worth it depends on the make/quality of the dish motor and LNB. Digital Sky dishes point at 28E, so the main other two satellites, you require ,are 19E and 13E, with viewing on various others between 42E - 30W. To get a starting point, for setting up your dish, you need 1W, which is as close to True South as needed, and then look East and West from this position. This can obviously be located 29 degrees West, to the right when facing the same direction as the sky dish is pointing, this should help you work out where you need to position your dish to get the most satellites. Good luck in this great hobby. Mickha

Blog Entries: 3 My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum. | You may struggle with the Czech channels on 23.5 East with a 90cm, a 1/1.2m dish would be more appropriate.
