My System: SKY set-top box with minidish. PC with 2mb broadband.
Haze on screen after installation...

After I got my new satellite installed to Hotbird the quality of my other channels on sky and bbc1,2,3,4,5 are all slightly hazey. The Hotbird signal however is perfect.

The bloke who installed the satellite reckons that because I have my dvd recorder, VHS playes, sky receiver and Fortec Star receiver all hooked up together via scarts etc, that "there is alot going on back there" and "it is affecting your overall picture quality".

Is this normal?

Should I be able to get a decent picture on all channels like before the new dish + receiver was installed?

Any ideas?

The mrs aint too happy lol

Installer could possibly be right.....best way to check is to temporarily disconnect all the scarts at tv after you make a note of where they go , plug in the scart for your new sat and have a look at the suspect channels...
