My System: DreamBox 7000s - Nokia Freeview - Several GameBoys - DS Lite - ZX81 - SNES - N64 - Sega Saturn Dreamcast - PlayStation - Gamecube - PSP - iPod - iPhone - XBox - PS3 - Wii - No Life!

As wod says - depends on your budget.

I set mine up using one of the 'beeper' things.

Cost a fiver and worked OK for me.

My System: Dbox + Skystar2, 2.2m Kinhuge Dish with Inverto LNB and Invacom ADF-120 feedhorn. Pace 1.3.25 and 80cm for Sky.

If you're not doing it professionally then why not splash out 6 quid and get an analogue meter.

My System: Delsat DSR5500, Radix DT100, Dreambox 500 & Multichoice Receivers plus Compro sat card Dishes 1M, 80cm & 50cm. USB Stick for DTT (But no transmissions in Cape Town yet!!!)

I use a beeper here in South Africa as anything else was prohibitively expensive,
and it works fine.

Exeter is at about 3.5 degrees West, so with your dish at the 0 degree position set your reciever to recieve France 2 on 11590V 20000 2/3 (this is on Atlantic Bird at 5 West). Align the dish , peaking it up with the analogue meter. Give the dish a nudge a couple of degrees to the left (on the mounting). You may need to increase the elevation a touch so that 5W is still on the arc. With a bit of luck you should be able to send the dish around to 28.2 East and 30 West to tweak your alignment.

What I like about this item on E-Bay is that for "Place Bid" it starts at £0-81, and for "Buy It Now" you can get it for £0-99.

It's the same one that I use and it does me alright, though I must admit I would prefer something more accurate when doing the finally positioning.

The main things to get right for a good installation are that the mounting pole is perfectly vertical, the dish is pointing in the right direction, and that the inclination/declination angles are set correctly.

Hi,
If you can afford it the Horizon HDSM is an serious bit of kit. I have two with special hex files for BBC1, 2, ITV, 4 & 5 and it just pee's over those crapy buzzer things. They are easy to use and you can download from their site almost any sat/transponder or they will write you a prog. They are also go for vsat stuff which i do loads.
