Hi den123,
Do not be put off by thinking it is over technical, If you can put a shelf up you can put a dish up. Honest, have a look around the site and if you have problems ask for help.
We were all where you are at some point but you will feel more satisfaction doing it yourself

I agree, it isn't difficult, but you do need to be methodical. Follow the procedure exactly, and you will have your system up and working in a day.

For which satellite? Or is it a motorised system?

Why not put your equipment in your profile?

Your elevation figure on the motor will be 50.6, your longitude is 3.5 degrees West, so you can set up your due South on either 1W or 5W, but you will need to offset the motor by a couple of degrees whichever you select.

If you are using a receiver with USALS, then you set the motor to zero or refence point, then set up your coordinates in the receiver, then tell it to go to either 5W or 1W, whichever you decide to use as your reference satellite.

My System: Smart lnb, 1m Gibby dish, Stab motor, TM5200D receiver, 57east to 61west. DTT from Sudbury. Virgin Media broadband.

If the scale on the side of your motor is marked Latitude set it to 50.6. If the scale is marked elevation set it to 90 minus 50.6 ie 39.4.

Look at the "sticky threads" at the start of this section i.e. My Motor Set-up Tutorial by Longstockings or Set-up The Dish by T24 and they tell you how to do it.

My System: Motorised 1.2M Fibo looking between 45E - 60W, TM9100 Receiver running EDG-Nemesis 3.2 in flash

Just set it to midway between 50 and 51, that'll be close enough. I don't think that the 0.1 deg will make any difference.

Believe these guys when they tell you it's not that difficult. I put up my very first motorized system a couple of months ago following the stickies at the top of the thread and within 4 - 5 hours was up and running. Good luck with it.

It should tell you that in your motor manual, can you put your exact setup, with a bit of deatil in your profile, then we will all know what we are taling about.

Make and model is motor
Make of Dish
Type of bracket
Model of Humax

You really don't need to set the angle of the dish, that is done when you try to find the due South satellite.

PS. 50.6 is your latitude.

As said in a couple of the sticky threads, you need to move the whole assembly on the pole for the azimuth and the dish elevation only, to find your due South satellite, whichever one you decide to go for.
