Tracking Clarke Belt

With a Latitude of 35 in Africa i am tracking the Clarke belt from 78.5 East to 24.5 West on a elevation of 40 and a dish elevation of 50.My declination for my site is 5,however,it is set on 2.My problem is that i have no satellite true north(Southern Hemisphere) the nearest being 34 degrees to my left and 53 degrees to my right.(note i am tracking C band)Can someone please advise me why i am managing to track the Clarke belt on a declination of 2.Thanks.
