I noticed that on the first picture of installation the dish is tightened to very tip of motor pole but in other pictures like the one with transparent dish the dish is tighened to the middle of the motor pole. Does this really matter?

No it doesn't, if possible I will mount the dish high on the motor arm to limit the stress, but on some dishes the U bolts are longer and the dish needs to be mounted lower down to avoid the connectors or cable fouling the movement.

My System: trchnomate 6900 , 85cm dish dark motor
Ref Vertical dish allignment

Hi

I am struggling to get the correct setup , I have a penta 21deg offset dish and a Dark Motor.

just a couple of questions.

I have set the dark motor adjustment to the same as my lattitude that is 53.8deg .

And my dish is bolted to the Motor downtube so it is totally vertical to the angle of the motor downtube.

When i am adjusting the up and down angle , Do i Adjust the angle of the Motor adjustment (53.8) or do i adjust the bracket on the back of the dish.

I`m struggling to get anything really apart from a few channels on astra and arabsat , cant even seem to get bbc world on thor.

DO i have to set something to a differant angle as my Penta dish is an OFFSET 21deg.

I am using a needle meter and also a compass meter and finding the strongest point , but still unable to even get Freesat etc.

Many thanks

Adjust the bracket on the dish. Once you set the scale on the motor you leave it.

Adjust the dish & Motor around the pole and by the dish EL only.

Sorry, had modified the page slightly over the weekend and when re-uploaded, the permissions reverted to no access.

Sorted now.
